PROGRAM
"Save More - Depend Less”
This is a new co-financed State Program that provides for the first time, incentives for self-contained interventions of energy upgrading and certification of the elevator of an apartment building. While saving money and energy, the value of the property increases at the same time.
To be able to participate in the program, an apartment building must meet the following conditions:
Be legal
Not been deemed to be demolished
Used as a primary residence (as proved by the minutes of the general assembly in conjunction with the Energy Performance Certificate)
To have been classified in a category below or equal to C, based on the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
An essential condition is that the elevator of the apartment building is electric and was installed before July 1st 1999.
The interventions to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the electricity consumption (in standby and movement mode) of the elevator are as follows:
Installation of variable speed system (inverter) with integrated or separate reactive power compensation system
Interventions to upgrade the safety level of the elevator installation, as well as to improve its functionality, both of which are required for the certification of elevators (JMD 28425/2008)
Interventions concerning the accessibility of people with disabilities (PWDs)
Replacement of the elevator with a new one, of higher energy efficiency
The maximum budget of the interventions cannot exceed €10,000 (VAT included). Of this amount, 70% is subsidized (the actual rate was 60%, but a special surcharge of 10% has been added due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the economy and households). As for the remaining 30% of the expenditure, it is covered by the owners and should not exceed the amount of the aforementioned capital.
In addition, the following costs are fully covered by the program:
- Issuance of an energy efficiency certificate for an apartment building (EEA)
- Issuance of the lift certification by a distinguished certification body
- Processing of the request by a project consultant
